Ron Galella New York

The photography of Ron Galella has been the subject of numerous monographs, but this is the first to focus on the city that his work is perhaps most identified with, his hometown, New York.   The book contains many unpublished images from Galella’s archives of iconic celebrities featuring images from 1968 to 1992, stars like Mick Jagger,  Bob Dylon, Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney,  Dustin Hoffman, Madonna, Grace Jones, Keith Darling, Andy Warhol,  Dianna Carol, Louis Armstrong, Lennon & Bowie Halston and Al Pacino.
Ron catching them out and about, on the streets, at JFK airport, in hotel lobbies, enjoying the nightlife and theater culture of a grittier New York City.
Journalist William Van Meter interviews Galella about specific images, providing captions that reveal previously untold stories, Accompanied by select anecdotes about Galella’s most legendary photographs.
The book is uniquely laid out with images reprinted either full-page or double truck (photos stretching over two facing pages) on heavy gloss stock.
The photos all imbibing the energy of NYC and the spirit of the era!  All in RG’s indelible style!
